Philip Thornton
Hi there, my name's Philip and I'm a character animator. I'm an incredibly driven indivudual working on my animations daily to improve myself and my craft; while I struggle and fail at points along the way, I do my earnest to learn from those failures, noting down what in the process went wrong, and having another attempt until I feel I have completed what I set out to achieve.
Through most of my life I have been unknowingly struggling with my ADHD, it meant no matter how much I aspired to do something, whether it was try to animate or play a certain game just for fun, I hit a mental wall that meant I could not take action - Kind of like having a car with a broken transmission, you can put it in gear and rev the engine but the wheels don't spin.
I was diagnosed in September 2021 and have had working medication since June 2022 which has been truely world changing for me, it has enabled me to take action on my asperations. I'm aware that I have mentioned this both here and my CV, however, I do it so those reading can better understand that even with how debilitating my ADHD has been for my personal growth through a majority of my life, I kept striding forward to become an animator. I feel I'm no longer defined by my ADHD and can be my true self; a passionate, hard working animator.
